AICGS Business & Economics Program

The AICGS Business & Economics Program generates insights into the institutional, political, cultural, and historical factors that shape our responses to deepening economic integration and the challenges of globalization. The Program focuses on topics such as regulation and governance in the global economy, Germany in the European Union, domestic economic reform and adaptation, and the impact of innovation upon economic development.

Economic ties between the United States and Germany have grown steadily deeper and more intertwined over the past decades. Today, trade and financial ties between the two countries are a vital part of the bilateral relationship. But deepening transatlantic economic integration is a mixed blessing, entailing not only significant benefits for Germany, Europe, and the U.S. but also potential for new conflict. Both sides would benefit from a better understanding of the factors that shape our perspectives on these issues, and the AICGS Business & Economics Program aims to assist in that understanding.

Dr. Tim Stuchtey

Dr. Tim Stuchtey is a Senior Fellow and Director of the Business & Economics Program at AICGS. He works on various issues concerning economic policy, the classic German 'Ordnungspolitik,' and the economics of higher education. Please click here for more on Dr. Stuchtey.
